From Canazei to the Passo Pordoi/Pordoijoch
27 hairpin bends to happiness
Road bike
Passo Pordoi lies between the Sella Group and Sass Bece and is one of the four passes on the Sella Circuit. This winding road with its 60 "tornanti" is regarded as a dream of a pass by motorbike riders, and so many bikers rush here in summer. On one day each year, the Sellaronda Bike Day, the Sella Circuit is closed to cars. 27 hairpin bends wind their way up from Canazei to Passo Pordoi. After 5.7 km the road branches off left to the Sella Pass. At the junction, there is a memorial in honour of the Italian cycle sport legend, Fausto Coppi. The road through the pass, most of which has a 5 to 6% gradient, is a good route to master on a road bike.
