Road cycling holidays in the Dolomites
The crowning glory – road cycling through mountain pass heaven
The mountain passes in the Dolomites are a dream come true for die-hard road cyclists. Surrounded by majestic mountains, the pass roads are true marvels of curves and honestly hard to beat in terms of beauty.
Not to mention the way the roads are laid out: The climbs are there, but are mostly doable, the curves are flat and practically sweep you into the next straight, and once at the top of the pass, it continues on the backside. There are no one-way streets for road cycling in the Dolomites.
The best way to experience the Dolomites is on car-free days. This means no annoying traffic, no sports cars zooming by, just you and thousands of other like-minded people.
The best season for a cycling holiday in the Dolomites, in Val Gardena & Alta Badia, Pustertal/Val Pusteria and Eggental/Val d'Ega is summer. However, we generally recommend the months of June and September to avoid heavy traffic.
