To the Passo Silvella

Start at the Bike Hotel Alpenblick ****s on the forest road no. 13 towards Alpe di Nemes, after about 2 km turn right on the trail 13a, passing the “Unteroltl” dairy farm towards Passo di Monte Croce di Comélico. This trail leads you to the valley station of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo cable car to Orto del Toro.  The cable car takes you up around 800 m of difference in altitude where you then reach the mountain station at Orto del Toro (2,050) with a fantastic view of the Sesto Dolomites and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.  Take the path to Malga Klammbach hut, in front of the Malga Klammbach hut (1,950) turn left onto route no. 13 towards Alpe di Nemes (1,870).

This is technically challenging in parts with sections where you will need to push or carry your bike until after around 40 minutes you reach the Malga Alpe Nemes Hut where you then turn left in front of the hut into a high valley. From here, there are switchbacks to the Passo Silvella (2,320). Once at the Passo Silvello, a strenuous section follows where you must traverse the gravel fields of the Silvella pushing your bike. Once there, you will see the trail to Malga Rinfredo hut (1,880), continue from here to the Coltrondo hut (1,830), where you then take a ride back to the Malga Alpe Nemes hut. After a rest at Otti & Klara continue along trail no. 13 towards Sesto/Moso up to the Saumahd, at the crossroads take a right towards Mezzomonte. Cycle along the forest road for about 3 km and then turn left onto the “Erla Trail”. This flowing trail takes you back to the valley station of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo cable car again. Passing to the right of the Pollaio Hut you then reach Moso, once at the main road you can turn left to make a detour to the valley station of the Croda Rossa cable car to end the day of biking in the “Gasthäusl Putschall”.
