Mountain biking at Colle/Kohlern

Biking in December and January? In South Tyrol? Yes, it is possible at Colle di Bolzano. From there the funicular takes bikers 800 metres in altitude up the mountain to a paradise of freeriding, downhill runs or quite traditional mountain biking. The downhill run to Bolzano now enjoys cult-status and many bike firms test the forgivingness of their bikes here. Less challenging, but all the more lovely is the Schulsteig from Colle dei Signori to Bolzano. It is regarded as a genuine titbit, has lots of variety and is nice and long. And the best thing is, if you want to try again you can make the climb by train!
