Dream tour in the shadow of the Sesto Sundial

The tour starts in Sesto/Moso Bike Hotel Alpenblick ****s to the valley station of the Prati di Croda Rossa cable car. This is where the fun really starts with a hard ascent of about 5 km to the Prati di Croda Rossa (1,900). It continues along hiking trail no. 18 at the foot of the “Sesto Sundial" in the “Tre Cime di Lavaredo” nature park to the Passo di Monte Croce di Comélico (1,640). Go along the state road for 1 km into the neighbouring “Veneto” region and then turn right on the “old” state road to “Bagni di Valgrande” (1,310). From here, continue into the next village of “Padola” (1,210) and turn left uphill on the main road which leads you to “Dosoledo” and continues up to “Sega Digon”. Take a left at the sharp right curve heading towards “Malga Silvella” (1,800), from here, the road has switchbacks and turns along a relatively demanding but well-maintained path to the Kniebergsattel/Passo Silvella (2,300). The descent from Passo Silvella takes you through a beautiful high valley to Alpe di Nemes (1,870). After a break at “Otti & Klara”, initially continue along forest path no. 13 towards Moso, turn left after around 2 km and cross a wooden boardwalk onto the hiking trail 131 to Passo di Monte Croce di Comélico (1,630). From the Passo Monte Croce follow the state road for around 1 km towards Sesto/Moso, turn right and follow hiking trail no. 13 A past the campsite to the “Tre Cime di Lavaredo cable car” valley station and to “Pollaio Hut”. Turn right at the “Pollaio Hut” and the Sesto circular path takes you back to Sesto/Moso to the Bike Hotel Alpenblick ****s.
