Fanes Circuit

The Fanes Circuit is without doubt an MTB classic and a must for fans of breath-taking panoramas, challenging climbs and undulating trails, all within the territory of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Reserve, shrouded in the legends of the Dolomites. The Fanes Circuit starts in San Vigilio and quickly leads through Pederü onto steep military roads to the Fanes chalet. After a rest you set off for the emerald green Limo Lake or Lé de Limo. The descent to Capanna Alpina is very challenging; the trail down to San Cassiano and La Villa, however, is worth all the effort. We recommend that you do not undertake the Fanes Circuit in August, since experience shows that very many hikers are using the route then.
