In 2010 the first official freeride/downhill track of South Tirol has been opened on the Kronplatz: the freeride trail “Herrensteig”. From the summit of the mountain (2.272 meters above sea level) the track, which was improved and extended just in autumn, winds downwards to the forest line offering a fantastic panorama. Then steep turns, exciting jumps and tricky root parts lead down into the valley.
This year some locals worked again on the freeride trail and enriched the last part of it with northshores. Right by the valley station in Reischach, beside the well known funline, the track affords another surprise: a new pumptrack (13m x 17m).
The season 2011 starts on 11th June and ends in the middle of October - time enough for checking out the freeride trail “Herrensteig” and the two tracks at the valley station or testing one of the singletrails of the Kronplatz area in enduro-style.
A fixture on the calendar, not only for all the freeriders of the region, are the Downhill Days on 10th and 11th September offering fun-contests, bike tests, bike exhibitors, BBQ and more.
